Job Description

  • Providing legal advice and support to departments within the depository and to the stakeholders.
  • Interpret and apply laws, regulations, and policies relevant to depository operations.
  • Assessing the need for amendments to regulatory documents including byelaws and evaluating the same.
  • Review agreements and other documents like Terms Conditions from legal perspective.

Regulatory Compliance:
  • Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements affecting the depository.

Dispute Resolution:
  • Handling of litigation matters including strategizing replies with external counsels appointed, decision making and appearing before various fora.
  • Ensuring timely filing of reply, closure of cases and co-ordination with counsels for seamless management of cases
  • Represent the depository in legal proceedings, arbitration, and mediation.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and oversee their work.

Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of legal documents and correspondence.
  • Ensure proper documentation of legal decisions and actions taken.
