GIS Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated GIS intern to join the hydrogen group at CSTEP. The candidate should have a solid foundation in
geographic information system (GIS), with practical experience in various GIS software and tools. The intern will collaborate closely with the hydrogen team to provide spatio-temporal analysis, data visualisation, and decision- making support using GIS technologies.

Responsibilities

Utilise GIS software (such as ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo) for spatial data analysis, visualisation, and map production.
Conduct spatial analysis to identify optimal locations for hydrogen infrastructure, based on environmental, regulatory, and economic
factors.
Use GIS to visualise cluster-based data, heat maps, and other geo-statistical analyses to support research on clean energy projects.
Implement multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods, such as analytic hierarchy process (AHP), within GIS for location suitability
analysis and decision-making for energy projects.
Assist in creating detailed spatial reports and presentations on GIS-based analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
Collect data and process spatial information related to clean energy initiatives, with a focus on hydrogen.

Qualifications

Current enrolment in a bachelor s or master s degree in any relevant field (e.g., Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, Urban
Planning, or related disciplines).
Basic understanding of renewable energy technologies is desirable, though not mandatory.

Skill set

Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and MapInfo.
Knowledge of Python or R for geospatial data analysis will be an added advantage.
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present GIS-based findings effectively.
