Safety Manager

Job Summary:
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, regulatory compliance, and the well-being of employees. The role involves collaborating with all departments, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a safety-first culture throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Policy Development and Compliance
• Develop and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Ensure the organization remains compliant with industry-specific safety standards.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards and assess risks.
• Implement corrective and preventive measures to mitigate identified risks.
• Monitor and analyse safety metrics and trends to recommend proactive measures.
• Training and Awareness:
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and management.
• Promote awareness of safety initiatives and responsibilities through campaigns and communication.
• Incident Management:
• Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root causes.
• Prepare detailed reports and implement follow-up actions to prevent recurrence.
• Emergency Preparedness:
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
• Organize and oversee emergency drills and exercises.
• Collaboration and Leadership:
• Act as a liaison between the organization and regulatory agencies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all operational processes.
• Lead safety committees and facilitate regular safety meetings.
• Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
