Software Development Engineer II - Android

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our mobile engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced Android applications that align with our product goals. This role requires a deep understanding of the Android ecosystem, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality, user-centric products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features while ensuring top-notch performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality, scalable code.
• Design, build, and maintain performant, reusable, and reliable Kotlin/Java code.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
• Diagnose and fix bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and back-end teams to improve user experience and functionality.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation standards.
• Stay updated on emerging trends, tools, and technologies in the Android ecosystem.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Guide and mentor junior developers to elevate the team's technical expertise.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: 4+ years of Android development experience, including leadership or mentorship roles.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK and its components.
• Expertise in Kotlin and Java.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications with back-end services.
• Proficiency in designing for multiple screen sizes and orientations.
• UI/UX Design Principles:
• Understanding of Android design patterns and best practices.
• Experience creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Performance Optimization:
• Hands-on experience with offline storage, threading, and app performance tuning.
• Familiarity with tools like Profilers.
• Additional Skills:
• Experience with push notifications, and Google APIs.
• Proficient with Git or other version control systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of open-source Android libraries like Dagger, Retrofit, and Glide.
