Senior US Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with expertise in US accounting, QuickBooks, financial reporting, tax compliance, and sales tax filing. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in bookkeeping, tax planning, financial statement preparation, and sales tax compliance, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting:

• Manage end-to-end bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online/Desktop.
• Prepare and review financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement).
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and monitor accounts.
• Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and tax entries.
• Conduct financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting for clients.

Tax Preparation & Compliance:

• Prepare and review year-end tax returns for small businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
• Manage partnership and corporate tax returns (1120, 1120S, 990, etc.).
• Assist with tax planning and strategy development for clients.
• Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and state tax laws.
• Stay updated with latest tax legislation changes and IRS pronouncements.
• Record tax adjusting journal entries in QuickBooks and identify potential tax errors.

Sales Tax Filing & Compliance:

• Handle multi-state sales tax filings and ensure compliance with state and local tax laws.
• Reconcile sales tax liability accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Stay updated on changing sales tax regulations and advise clients accordingly.
• Assist in setting up automated sales tax calculations and reporting in accounting software.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

✅ Masters degree in Accounting or Finance (Inter CA, CA, CPA, EA preferred).
✅ Minimum 2-5 years of US accounting and tax experience.
✅ Strong QuickBooks Online & QuickBooks Desktop (Advanced Level) experience.
✅ Knowledge of US GAAP, tax planning, financial reporting, and sales tax compliance.
✅ Experience preparing Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, and 990.
✅ Experience with multi-state sales tax filings.
✅ Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting software (UltraTax preferred).
✅ Ability to analyze reports, ensure compliance, and meet deadlines.
✅ Excellent English and Gujarati communication skills for client interactions.
