Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Linux Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will bring expertise in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting enterprise-level Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance and security of critical infrastructures. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, addressing complex network challenges, and contributing to both on-premises and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and maintain enterprise-level Linux systems.
• Troubleshoot UNIX/Linux-based environments and provide performance optimization.
• Diagnose protocol issues using packet analyzers (e.g., Wireshark).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve Layer 2 to Layer 7 network issues.
• Administer and tune application stacks (e.g., Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, HAProxy, Envoy/Varnish).
• Manage virtualized and containerized environments (VMware, KVM/QEmu, Proxmox clusters).
• Implement monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Zabbix) and maintain high system uptime.
• Develop scripts and automation tools using shell scripting, Python, Perl, Ruby; knowledge of Go is a plus.
• Utilize configuration management tools and Chef cookbooks (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, cfengine, Salt) to streamline operations.
• Manage cloud platforms, preferably AWS; AWS certification is a plus.
• Migrate and optimize workloads for cloud environments.
• Maintain networking components, including VLANs, BGP, TCP/IP, OSI model layers, anycast routing, and firewalls.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support a 24/7 environment.
• Work flexible shifts and be available for overtime as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in enterprise-level Linux system configuration and troubleshooting.
• Proven expertise with UNIX/Linux-based environments, network layers, and protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (spoken & written).

Preferred Skills:

• AWS cloud platform expertise with relevant certifications.
• Experience in high-performance computing clusters and fault-tolerant designs.
• Knowledge of container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
