Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs for banking applications using Mellon Bank's COBOL compiler.
  
• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve issues related to program execution, data processing, and system integration.
  
• Troubleshoot complex problems using debugging techniques and tools such as SQL queries on Unix platforms.
  
• Ensure high-quality deliverables by adhering to coding standards, best practices, and industry regulations.
  
• Participate in knowledge sharing sessions to improve understanding of new technologies and processes.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• 1-5 years of experience in COBOL development with a focus on banking applications.
  
• Strong proficiency in writing efficient COBOL code .
  
• Experience working with SQL databases (e.g., DB2) for querying large datasets.
  
• Familiarity with Unix operating systems for batch processing tasks.
  
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment.
