Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior 3D Animator & Concept Artist to lead the design and animation of engaging 3D characters, environments, and assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong artistic vision, deep technical expertise, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality work in animation and character design. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create visually stunning and emotionally engaging content for our projects.

Key Responsibilities

3D Animation

• • Create realistic, expressive, and fluid animations for characters, objects, and environments.
• • Design and execute motion paths, rigging, and keyframe animations.
• • Optimize animations for performance across platforms while maintaining visual quality.
• • Collaborate with storyboarding teams to ensure animations align with the narrative and emotional tone.

3D Character Modeling

• • Develop high-quality 3D character models with clean topology and efficient UV layouts.
• • Ensure characters are rigged and textured appropriately for animation and rendering.
• • Create both stylized and realistic models based on project requirements.

Character Design and Concept Art

• • Design original characters, creatures, and assets from concept to final render.
• • Create concept art, including sketches, color palettes, and detailed turnarounds.
• • Collaborate with writers and directors to develop characters that fit the storys vision.

3D Environment and Asset Modeling

• • Design detailed environments, props, and assets that align with the projects visual style.
• • Create textures and materials using tools like Substance Painter or Photoshop.
• • Work closely with the lighting and rendering team to ensure assets appear visually consistent.

Leadership and Mentorship

• • Lead and mentor junior team members, providing feedback and guidance to elevate team output.
• • Work closely with production managers to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
• • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into the workflow.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background

• • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• • Certification in 3D Animation or Modeling Software is a plus.

Technical Skills

• • Proficiency in 3D animation tools like Autodesk Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
• • Expertise in modeling and sculpting tools like ZBrush or Mudbox.
• • Knowledge of texturing tools such as Substance Painter, Adobe Photoshop, or Mari.
• • Experience with rigging and skinning in software like Maya or Blender.
• • Familiarity with rendering engines like Arnold, V-Ray, or Unreal Engine.
• • Basic understanding of game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine is an advantage.

Artistic Skills

• • Exceptional drawing and sketching skills for concept art.
• • Strong understanding of anatomy, motion, weight, and timing in animation.
• • Solid grasp of color theory, lighting, and composition.

Experience

• • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in 3D animation, modeling, or character design.
• • Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of artists.
• • Portfolio showcasing a strong body of work in animation, character design, and concept art.

Soft Skills

• • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to feedback.
• • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• • High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• • Experience in children’s media or family entertainment content.
• • Familiarity with pipeline tools like Shotgun, Trello, or Asana.
• • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or MEL for automation.
