Business Systems Analyst

You will be responsible for working with a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of platforms. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing large scale applications, a strong technical ability, excellent project execution skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You would be working on centralized platform system that provides all financial KPIs, accounting and regulatory data needs, reporting and reconciliation platforms, ledger maintenance, and data analytics for different groups within PayPal, including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

• Our team operates at the cutting edge of Fin tech and insights domain, focused on integrating financial products into accounting landscape. We leverage technologies like ETL processes, Big Query (BQ), Hadoop and HANA to integrate scalable, data-driven accounting solutions. We are seeking talented data engineers to join the team.

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows using technologies such as Hadoop, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Leverage S4 HANA to extract and process financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Optimize data architecture and implement robust data governance policies to support scalable, reliable insights.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, ensuring high performance and efficiency.

• Act as a liaison between finance, payments, and engineering teams to identify data needs and define requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement new product integrations into the finance ecosystem.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions to gather insights, document business processes, and translate them into actionable data engineering tasks.
• Conduct testing and validation for new features and products to ensure successful implementation into the finance systems.

• Plan and execute data initiatives in alignment with organizational goals, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and manage dependencies effectively.
• Contribute to post-implementation reviews, providing insights to improve future processes.

• Stay updated with emerging technologies in data engineering and fintech, integrating new learnings into the role.
• Demonstrate a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.

• Education: Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with a focus on Hadoop , Big Query , Google Cloud Platform , and S4 HANA .
  • Demonstrated experience working with finance systems or within the fintech domain.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing and real-time data workflows.
• Skills:
  • Strong programming skills in Python , Java , or Scala .
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL tools.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, pipeline development, and performance optimization.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in testing and validation of systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
