Business Development Manager

About the Role


As a business development manager, you will be responsible for identifying and generating leads and closure of the 3pl/4pl Business, Primarily Warehousing. The business development manager will determine business development strategy and execute it.

He/she will be responsible for understanding the clients requirements and develop a solution around to deliver the value to customer.

He/She will be responsible to oversee and deliver the solutions committed to clients are delivered.

Identify potential partner companies and businesses that align with our target market and objectives.

Initiate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in partner organizations, fostering trust and collaboration.

Collaborate with partners to develop joint value propositions and marketing strategies that promote our 3PL services.


Roles and Responsibilities

New Business Development:

  • Identify, target and build relationships with potential clients; maintain satisfaction and uncover new opportunities for Warehousing/Packaging/Packing/FTL Transportation.
  • Plan approaches and pitches, develop a presentation and present the capabilities to clients.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and achieve revenue targets.
  • Research market trends, competitor offerings, and client needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Align sales strategies with operational goals and develop pipelines to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored 3PL solutions that meet client needs.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, resolving issues and ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyse KPIs, and report progress to senior management.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and professional forums.
  • Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the clients needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion
  • Present new services and enhance existing relationships
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs Planning
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the companys unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Management & Research:

  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the companys CRM or other sales management system
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets
  • Work with marketing department to ensure that required promotional activities are initiated for 3PL/4PL Business.
  • Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the companys people and capabilities

Requirement

  • Ability to drive business growth, profitability, implement sales strategies, generate leads, and conduct market research
  • We are looking for someone with Mid leadership skills, experience in 3PL/4PL with strong industry background, lead generation, solution design and negotiation skills.
  • This role requires someone who is result oriented, a self-starter and a pro-active person
  • Knowledge of how to set up and use a CRM is a plus
  • Strong communication and writing skills, Language fluency: English, Hindi and local language.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office tools like Word & Excel & MIS reporting
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with MBA/ equivalent masters preferred
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Business development of warehousing Business
