Business Analyst

We are looking for young, enthusiastic professionals with exceptional analytical skills to join us as Business Analysts at the Directorate of Admissions. This role requires experience in monitoring, measuring, and analysing data outcomes, outputs, and the impact of university admissions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide detailed analysis reports to managers and higher management based on specified requirements.

• Create ad hoc reports for Admissions data analysis as requested by management.

• Actively monitor the admissions process and intervene as necessary to ensure applicants receive the required support.

• Reconcile admissions counts at each stage of the data loading process and maintain thorough documentation.

• Identify and resolve errors in data conversion, including edits, duplicate records, and bypassed records.

• Ensure quality assurance of imported data, collaborating with quality assurance analysts when needed.

• Generate reports from single or multiple systems.

• Identify business needs, work with technology teams, and derive solutions.

• Forecast and derive insights from admissions data.

• Convert tables into actionable insights and recommend appropriate actions.

• Design presentations for weekly, biweekly, monthly, and yearly admissions reviews.

Admissions Analysis:

• Collect, analyse, and interpret admissions data across different regions.

• Identify admission trends, growth patterns, and seasonal variations.

• Provide insights into top-performing regions and areas with growth potential.

• Develop and maintain admissions dashboards and reports for management review.

Admission Team Analysis:

• Analyse performance metrics, including applicant satisfaction, efficiency, and resolution times.

• Identify trends in admission requests and resolutions.

• Provide recommendations for improving admission quality and efficiency.

• Develop and maintain admission team performance dashboards and reports. Admission Spend

Analysis:

• Analyse budget heads and spending to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency

improvements.

• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.

Reporting and Presentation:

• Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.

• Develop clear and concise reports and presentations that communicate complex data insights in an understandable manner.

• Strong command in designing presentations for weekly, biweekly, monthly, and yearly admissions reviews.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the finance, admissions, and admission team to gather necessary data and insights.

• Collaborate with IT to ensure data integrity and availability for analysis.

• Participate in cross-functional projects to support business initiatives.

Requirements:

• Experience in maintaining data and performing data analysis.

• Proficiency in checking data and creating/executing dashboards with conditional logic.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data analysis and generating insights) and G-suite (Google Sheets, Google Slide, and Google Doc), Power BI, Tableau, and other visualization software.

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders.

• Technical expertise in data storage structures, mining, and cleansing.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Interpersonal Skills:

• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and within a team setting.

• Self-motivated with a positive attitude, excellent time management, and problem- solving skills.

• A go-getter mentality is crucial.

Education:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related field. Equivalent working experience is also acceptable.

• Preferable degrees: MBA (Business Analytics), MTech (Data Science), M.Sc. (Data

Science), M.Sc. (Statistics), BBA (Business Analytics), B.Sc. (Statistics).

Experience (Preferred):

• 2-5 years of experience in Higher Education/University settings, especially in

dynamic and highly competitive environments.
