Senior Mechanical Engineer - Mission critical - GFS

Burns & McDonnell India has exciting opportunity for Mechanical Engineer interested in growing their careers in one of the fast-paced company involved in high tech building design and construction. We are multi-discipline team that provides engineering services for facilities projects in the North America region which includes facilities including hyperscale data centers, food & consumer product, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, and institutional facilities. We are looking for an experienced and energetic Mechanical engineer to join our growing Global Facilities - Mission Critical team in Mumbai office to lead and support HVAC, Plumbing and Piping design activities on projects mainly in North America region. The successful candidate will report to the mechanical Section manager (Mission Critical).

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for design and specification of mechanical systems like HVAC, plumbing, hydronic systems (hot water, steam, and chilled water) for industrial facilities to provide for a useful and safe workplace.

Capture client requirements and if needed, advise them regarding mechanical systems/requirements available to meet their needs and comply with safety codes.

Review contractor shop drawings, field inspections, and testing and commissioning reports.

Coordinate with other disciplines, client(s) and other stake holder(s) to develop a clash free system design.

Responsible for managing the assigned scope within agreed schedule and budget.

Manage a team of designers working on a project.

Willing to advance in career by taking on increased responsibilities on projects and organization.

Tools:

Trane TRACE or any other load calculation program.

Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD

Navisworks, AutoCAD, BlueBeam

Knowledge of AutoPipe, Autocad plant 3D will be an added advantage.

Microsoft Office Tools - MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote.

Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, from a recognized institution.

Minimum 9 - 12 years of working experience in HVAC and plumbing design for Data center and commercial facilities.

Hands on experience on projects in North America region and knowledge of Revit will be a plus. Working knowledge of international codes and standards (ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA, NBC, BS/ EN codes, Leed building requirements, Mechanicalcode , InternationalBuildingcode , InternationalPlumbingCode , International FireCode,NFPA,etc.) applicablefor Data Center and Commercial projects.

Possess Strong knowledge of chilled water, VRF system design, and technical submittal assessment.

A committed team player able to work on own initiative.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
