Description
Job Overview
Successful Estimator display strong Estimation, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and
written/oral communication skills. They should be detail-oriented team members who can
consistently meet deadlines and possess the ability to work independently as needed. Computer,
interpersonal and customer service skills are necessary.
Responsibilities and Duties
Work independently or with our Lead Estimator of Burns McDonnell US office.
Estimate: Develop accurate cost estimates for Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects,
considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors especially for the US EPC projects
that includes all disciplines. Estimate $ cost for Transmission Line, Substation Distribution for
Engineering, Land Acquisition, right of way, Material Construction) Class 5, Class4, Class 3, Class
2 Estimates.
and sections, ensuring precision in quantifying required materials and components for project
execution with minimum data as per AACEi standard. Estimate quantity for High Voltage
Transmission Line, Substation Distribution of Electric Utility (Material Take off from
Drawings/Maps) or by thumb rule.
project scope and determine resource requirements.
managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather essential information and ensure comprehensive
estimations.
value engineering, and alternate solutions without compromising quality.
compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

advancements to improve estimating techniques and processes, including enhancing proficiency in
digital tools for material takeoffs
or even excel templates already developed for Estimation.

Estimation work and keep them posted about the status or any such meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum Diploma or BE/BTech Full time (Any Engineering Stream, preferably Electrical or Civil)
Relevant Experience: 5-15 yrs.
Should have strong capabilities in Estimation of High Voltage Transmission and Substation projects
Strong understanding of electrical construction practices, codes, and regulations related to
Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects
Understanding of Engineering, Material, Equipment, Labor, Permits Construction terminologies.
Intermediate level knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup
work processes.
GMAX, and per Unit contract pricing mechanisms.
Candidate having working knowledge of Advance Excel is preferred.
Interest to learn develop estimation skills in various Industry.
Excellent written verbal communication skills.
Ready to work permanently in 2nd shift (12:30 pm to 9:00 PM) to get 3-4 hours overlap with US
Office.
