IT Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

· Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and reliable IT infrastructure solutions.

· Ensure infrastructure architecture meets performance, security, and availability standards.

System Administration:

· Manage and support server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

· Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary upgrades.

· Select, configure, and manage monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Logic Monitor, Ping Plotter, etc.).

· Create and maintain dashboards to provide real-time visibility into system performance and health.

· Customize dashboards to meet the needs of different stakeholders (e.g., IT, business teams).

· Use monitoring data to conduct capacity planning and performance optimization.

· Identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and scalability.

Veeam Backup Management:

· Implement and manage Veeam Backup solutions.

· Ensure regular backups and perform restore operations as needed.

· Monitor backup jobs and address any failures or issues promptly.

· Develop and manage comprehensive backup and disaster recovery plans.

· Perform regular backup tests to ensure data integrity and availability.

Server Patching:

· Develop and manage server patching schedules and processes.

· Ensure all servers are regularly updated with the latest patches and updates.

· Monitor patch compliance and address any issues promptly.

Cloud Services:

· Implement and manage cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure).

· Optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency and performance.

Security and Compliance:

· Implement and maintain security best practices and policies.

· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

· Work on server vulnerability reports shared by the InfoSec team.

· Analyze reports, identify critical issues, and prioritize remediation efforts.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

· 6-8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a similar role.

· Proven experience with infrastructure design, implementation, and management.

· Specific experience with Veeam Backup solutions and server patching processes.

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments.

· Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies.

· Experience with Veeam Backup and Replication.

· Familiarity with server patching tools and processes.

· Basic knowledge of applying risk factors associated with maintaining IT systems, such as computer viruses, hackers, and denials of service.

· Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

· Understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

· Hands-on experience on Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

· Understanding of security principles and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), ITIL, etc.

· Knowledge of PowerShell scripting will be added advantage.
