A restaurant captain's responsibilities include:

• Guest serviceEnsuring guests have a welcoming experience, assisting with reservations, and providing feedback
• Staff managementTraining, supervising, and evaluating staff, and encouraging problem-solving
• Inventory and orderingManaging inventory and ordering supplies
• Food and beverage serviceSupervising food and beverage service, and ensuring high quality products are served
• CleanlinessMaintaining a clean and organized restaurant, including the food and beverage service area
• Health and safetyEnsuring compliance with local health and safety regulations, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment
• CommunicationEstablishing rapport with guests, and communicating with the kitchen and serving staff
• Performance evaluationConducting performance evaluations for restaurant staff
