Position: Technical Specialist, Castings

Location: Kondhapuri

Your contributions to organisations growth:

• Technical supplier management viz. technical support to suppliers on problems and quality issues as well to Purchasing team for technical selection of suppliers.
• Support to category management/SQA/VD during Gate approval process.
• Technical evaluation of potential suppliers and active suppliers (audits etc.).
• Evaluation of technical requirements of parts for the foundry process.
• Monitoring of Quality for casting parts.
• Casting category projects execution (in lead role or as team member).
• Casting category contract proceedings (as team member).
• Casting optimization projects with Engineering, as team member and casting expert.
• Coordination of quality improvement projects with suppliers through casting process improvement.
• Coordination with suppliers and internal interfaces for part specific escalations.
• Management of patterns, viz. preparation of guidelines for pattern concept and pattern manufacturing, maintaining of pattern database for BC products, pattern storage, investments etc.
• Creation of guidelines for and monitoring of prototype casting parts process.
• Technical risk analysis and definition of mitigation actions for casting parts.
• Implementation, Coordination and Maintaining of Casting Risk Management System.
• Preparation respectively consultation for material purchase specifications for castings.
• Technical support to Procurement, Engineering, Quality, R&D, Sales and Project Management, as required.
• Support to BCx Casting procurement and expert team where required.
• Knowledge of Destructive/Non-Destructive testing.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Knowledge of QMS/EMS/HS standards.
• Good PC skills for MS office (Word /Excel/PP etc) & knowledge of SAP (desirable).

Expertise you have to bring in along with;

• Engineering graduation / Diploma in Foundry technology / Mechanical Engineering.
• 8-12 Years of professional experience as Casting technologist / Expert in Grey / Ductile Iron foundry or similar function of "Specialist" in an Engineering company.
• Profound work experience and technical knowhow in castings and foundry
• Practical experience in administrative areas of the profession
• Education and practical experience in areas of Quality management in Foundries
• Knowledge and practical experience of using simulation tools.
