Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS/Facility Resource to join our team for a one-year contract at our Bangalore Factory. This role will be crucial in supporting all EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) and Facility/Factory-related activities and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of hands-on experience in managing EHS and Facility functions in a manufacturing environment, with an in-depth understanding of EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.

This position is based on-site at our Client location at Bangalore Factory and will report directly to the Facilities Team. The role involves conducting regular inspections, supporting EHS policy implementation, and collaborating with the Cepheid EHS management to ensure compliance and best practices are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

1. EHS Compliance and Site Inspections

• Conduct bi-monthly site visits/inspections (twice per month) to assess and support EHS compliance needs.
• Identify and address potential compliance risks, and ensure EHS standards are met across all factory operations.

2. Policy Development and Updates

• Develop, revise, and update EHS policies to ensure alignment with local, state, and national regulations.
• Support Cepheid EHS management in implementing company-specific EHS policies at the site, ensuring they are tailored to meet local operational needs.

3. Incident Investigation and Reporting

• Conduct and support incident investigations and root cause analysis for any workplace accidents or safety incidents.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

4. Training and Development

• Administer and conduct training sessions for site leadership and associates on EHS policies and best practices.
• Ensure that all staff members are properly trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities regarding EHS protocols.

5. Work Instructions and Process Improvement

• Establish or revise work instructions, procedures, and policies as needed to enhance EHS compliance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at minimizing risks and improving safety and environmental practices at the facility.

6. Support for Regulatory and Compliance Documentation

• Review and provide feedback on regulatory, agency documentation, permits, and reports related to EHS compliance.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of reports to regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with all required standards.

Deliverables

As part of this role, the candidate will be responsible for delivering the following:

• Weekly Site Visit/Inspection Summaries: Provide detailed reports on each site visit/inspection, including a summary of findings, potential corrective actions, and areas for improvement.
• Regulatory Documentation Review: Review and provide feedback on any regulatory documents, permits, or reports related to EHS compliance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
• Training and Development Materials: Develop and deliver training materials, including EHS policy updates and training programs for staff.
• Incident Reports: Conduct thorough investigations and prepare reports for any workplace incidents, highlighting corrective actions to prevent recurrence

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Occupational Safety, or related fields. Certification in EHS practices is a plus.
• Experience: 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in EHS and Facility compliance, particularly in a factory/manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of EHS rules, regulations, and best practices within a factory setting.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and presentation abilities. Proficient in MS Office and EHS software/tools.
• Certifications: NEBOSH, OSHA, or any other relevant EHS certifications are preferred
