Role & responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger updates.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing, preparing financial statements and MIS reports.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable while ensuring smooth transaction processing.
• Assist in cost control measures and provide insights on financial performance.

Regulatory & Tax Compliance

• Manage GST, TDS, and corporate tax filings to ensure adherence to statutory deadlines.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies for compliance matters.
• Stay updated with regulatory changes affecting fintech and cross-border transactions.

Payroll Management Support

• Assist in processing payroll, ensuring accurate salary disbursement, deductions, and tax computations.
• Coordinate with HR to ensure proper PF, ESI, and other statutory filings.
• Maintain compliance with labor laws, employee taxation, and compensation structures.

Financial Controls & Process Optimization

• Implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets and prevent discrepancies.
• Support automation initiatives to streamline accounting and payroll workflows.
• Collaborate with Head of Finance to improve cash flow management and financial planning.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, and financial management, preferably in a fintech, SaaS, or startup environment.
• Strong expertise in Indian accounting standards, taxation (GST, TDS), and financial compliance.
• CA / MBA (Finance) / CMA
• Hands-on experience with Tally, QuickBooks, zoho books or other accounting software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with an analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Prior experience in fundraising, investor relations, or fintech compliance is a plus.
