Safety Engineer

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to ensure workplace safety and compliance at construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing safety measures, conducting inspections and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Program Development:
• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures and programs tailored to construction operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and create safety plans to mitigate potential hazards.
• Site Inspections and Audits:
• Perform regular safety inspections and audits at construction sites to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Identify potential safety risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Training and Awareness:
• Organize safety training sessions for employees, contractors and site workers.
• Promote safety awareness and ensure all team members are informed about safety protocols.
• Incident Management:
• Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
• Prepare detailed reports on findings and implement measures to prevent future incidents.
• Compliance and Documentation:
• Ensure adherence to local and international safety regulations and standards.
• Maintain up-to-date safety documentation, including permits, inspection records and reports.
• Equipment and Material Safety:
• Inspect equipment and tools to ensure they meet safety standards.
• Provide guidance on the safe handling and storage of construction materials.
• Emergency Preparedness:
• Develop and implement emergency response plans.
• Conduct drills to prepare teams for potential emergencies, such as fires or evacuations.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with project managers, supervisors and contractors to integrate safety into project planning.
• Act as a point of contact for external safety inspections and audits.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Engineer in the construction industry.
• Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards and best practices in construction.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and training abilities.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
