OT-IT Industrial Connectivity Engineer

Mandatory/requires Skills :
4+ years of experience in OT engineering , industrial automation, and IT-OT integration .

• Experience with vendor and partner platforms (products from Kepware, Ignition , Litmus, OSISoft).

• Strong expertise in connecting and configuring PLC and SCADA systems.

• Proficiency in OT protocols and standards such as Modbus, OPC UA, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP .

• Strong understanding of OT/IT concepts, networking principles, and cybersecurity best practices.

• Experience with SCADA systems, PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial control systems (ICS).

• Familiarity with data integration processes between OT and IT systems.

• Knowledge of cloud computing, edge computing, and IoT platforms for industrial applications .

• Understanding and experience in edge platforms and edge software from cloud providers (e. g. , AWS Greengrass, AWS Outposts, Azure Edge).

• Experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, NodeJS, C, or C++ and familiarity with operating systems.

• Experience in configuring industrial edge gateways and edge data centers.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities:

• Audit customer equipment and production lines to assess connectivity and automation requirements.

• Gather and document automation requirements, creating detailed design documents for system architecture and integration plans.

• Develop applications on the Ignition platform, including RMS, STRIP Map, Lot Movement, OEE, and more.

• Configure machine connectivity tools such as Kepware and Litmus for effective data acquisition.

• Assist customers and OEMs in identifying necessary tags in machine controllers.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement security measures to protect OT systems from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

• Create test cases and collaborate with the testing team to conduct quality assurance testing.

• Provide technical support, training, and documentation for IT-OT integration solutions to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.

• Lead a team of automation engineers, offering guidance and support throughout projects.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices in IT-OT integration and industrial automation.

• Prepare and deliver weekly project status reports to supervisors and customers, ensuring clear communication of progress.

• Create user manuals and troubleshooting guides to facilitate system use and maintenance.

• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor to support project goals. .

Good to have skills :

• Enterprise Architecture /Industry 4. 0 specific Certifications

• Industry 4. 0, Cyber Security related Certifications

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience with cloud platforms and data analytics tools.
