Job Description
Min 8+ years of experince , with extensive understanding on RDS AWS, has hands on experince in Postgres and My SQL.
- Database Installation and Configuration: You may be involved in installing, configuring, and upgrading database software (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Database Design and Optimization: Collaborating with developers and architects to design efficient database schemas and queries. Optimizing database structures, indexing strategies, and query performance to enhance overall system performance.
- Backup and Recovery: Implementing and maintaining backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures, disasters, or data corruption.
- Security Management: Implementing security measures such as access controls, encryption, and auditing to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and comply with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Setting up monitoring tools to track database performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and proactively tuning the database configuration to optimize performance and scalability.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Designing and implementing high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions such as clustering, replication, and failover to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Patch Management and Upgrades: Keeping the database software up-to-date by applying patches, service packs, and upgrades while minimizing disruption to production systems.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Investigating and resolving database-related issues such as performance degradation, data corruption, locking, and connectivity problems in a timely manner to minimize impact on business operations.
- Capacity Planning: Forecasting future database growth and capacity requirements based on business needs and usage trends. Scaling database infrastructure to accommodate increasing data volumes and user loads.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices. Sharing knowledge and providing guidance to other team members, developers, and stakeholders.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensuring databases comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. Participating in audits and providing documentation and evidence as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Staying updated with the latest developments in database technologies, best practices, and emerging trends. Proactively identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and process improvement.
