We are looking for a motivated *R&D Design and Documentation Intern* to join our team and support the R&D design function. The ideal candidate will assist in design documentation, offer hands-on support to the design team, and contribute to testing and evaluation processes. This role will also involve identifying and establishing relationships with new vendors, an essential aspect of maintaining and enhancing our development pipeline.
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
1. Design Documentation & Support:
- Assist the design team in preparing and organizing technical documentation, drawings, and design specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of design revisions, feedback, and updates, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible.
- Collaborate with design engineers to capture critical information and compile comprehensive reports for internal and external use.
2. Design Team Assistance:
- Work alongside the design team to support various phases of product development, including concept ideation, prototyping, and testing.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely progress on design projects.
- Conduct research to assist in developing innovative solutions and optimize existing design processes.
3. Testing and Validation:
- Participate in testing protocols, assisting in setting up tests and documenting results under supervision.
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving activities, documenting issues, findings, and solutions as needed.
- Analyze test data and collaborate with the team to refine designs and enhance performance.
4. Vendor Identification and Relationship Management:
- Conduct market research to identify potential vendors for new components, materials, or services.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities, reliability, and suitability for Bonv Aeros quality standards and specifications.
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors, ensuring productive and reliable partnerships.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1.Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of UAV/drone technologies and general mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
2.Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) for reading and understanding technical drawings.
- Basic understanding of design documentation practices, with familiarity in drafting documents and design specifications.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools and testing methodologies, with experience in a lab or testing environment a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Trello, or Asana).
3. Communication & Collaboration Skills Education:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of UAV/drone technologies and general mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
4. Vendor Relations & Market Research:
- Research skills to identify and assess potential vendors, with a focus on finding reliable partners for R&D needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with external vendors and manage basic vendor relationship tasks.
5. Problem-Solving Abilities:
- Analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose issues in testing and offer potential solutions.
