Costing Engineer

Position Title: Costing Engineer

JOB PURPOSE

To understand the product requirement and to estimate cost and investment required for successful launch of the product.

Roles and Responsibilities:

New product Cost Estimation

• To analyze the new product requirement
• To estimate the cost of new product with part-wise make/buy decision based on production capacity/capability.
• Conduct manufacturing feasibility analysis
• Collect investment data required for development of new product in costing phase

Cost Analysis

• To calculate actual cost of product during different phase of product life cycle.
• To make gap analysis from cost estimated and actual cost
• To make necessary action for identified gaps

Product Cost control

• To provide cost targets to purchase team.
• To provide cycle time targets to process engineering team
• To work with them to understand and help them achieve the target with cross functional approach

MRM

• To make business case sheet during project initiation phase
• Sign off VSM with targets to respective team
• Yearly product margin analysis trend
• KPI update

ECR Cost analysis

• To provide cost impact/benefit analysis for ECR with Investment requirement if any
• To evaluate calculated versus actual after implementation

Cost Reduction Projects

• Cost reduction activities for low margin products and strategic projects by cross functional approach

Preferred Experience : 2 Years and above

Specialized and Technical Knowledges : Knowledge on various process and commodities
