Vice President/GM - Finance & Accounts (Group)

Background of the Company

With over 70+ years in the construction industry, formally established in the year 1971. BNR Infrastructure Projects Private Limited (BNRIPL) is one of the largest multi-disciplinary civil engineering and construction companies in South India with a turnover of Rs.200.00 Crores. Over the year BNRIPL has successfully completed projects in High-Rise Residential, Commercial/Industrial/Public buildings construction and Property Development. BNR Estates (a Group company of BNRIPL) is into execution of Real Estate development, Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects etc. with strong marketing and leasing abilities from Retail, Commercial to Industrial Projects.

1. Accounting and Statutory (mandatory requirement)

  • Need in-depth knowledge of accounting & statutory compliance more specifically for construction, contracting, real estate, land transactions, rental/leasing verticals.
  • Lead accounts department by ensuring the data entry to compliance filing of daily, weekly and monthly audits conducted.
  • Understand taxation and adapt to new tax laws from time to time regarding Income Tax, GST, PF/ESI and other taxes applicable for the business.
  • Ability to read and understand the latest trends in tax optimizations measures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
  • Promptly reply and attend to notices including ability to attend hearing and face to face meetings with authorities.
  • Good understanding of Cost Accounting and able to structure the accounting process to align with day-to-day operations for better MIS reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
  • Working knowledge and understanding accounting software.

2. Banking (Mandatory at best)

  • Broad understanding on banking procedures and meet compliance documentation with accounting team for timely submissions to banks / NBFC.
  • Ability to do basic communication and coordinate with bankers for fund raising including international financing.
  • Identify financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies (optional).
  • Basic understanding of banking instruments (mutual funds, fixed deposits, etc.) to optimize best use of surplus group funds (optional).

3. Team Leadership (Mandatory)

  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance and support for professional development.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability within the department.
  • Conduct review meetings on a daily, weekly basis and take responsibility for the entire team.

4. International Taxation and Compliance (a plus)

  • Knowledge of international taxation or ability to grasp/read on international finance and taxations.
  • More particular knowledge or ability to learn about US taxes.

5. Finance Planning & Reporting (a plus)

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate forecasts.
  • Prepare regular financial forecasts and variance analysis reports.
  • Assess capital allocation decisions and make recommendations to maximize returns and shareholder value.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

6. Investment Planning and Analysis (Optional and a plus)

a. Evaluate investment opportunities in infrastructure and real estate projects including due diligence co-ordination and risk assessments.

b. Develop and manage financial models/capital budgeting to support strategic decision-making pertaining to new ventures/acquisitions, diversifications, joint venture deals, etc.

c. Conduct financial analysis of investment opportunities, projects, diversifications and potential acquisitions.

d. Expertise in Cash flow Statements, IRR, NPV and capital budgeting.

7. Legal Skills (Optional but plus)

a. Basic understanding of legal framework relevant to group businesses.

b. Be able to draft basic legal responses, review legal paperwork and monitor/coordinate legal issues through legal professionals.

8. Communication Skills

a. Decent English communication skills for representing company with bankers, investors, consultants, etc.

b. An ability to prepare technical presentations for investors and clients with assistance of communications team and draft letters as per need.

9. Core Values
