Job Profile:

Job Title: Project Manager (VRF Products - ODM & GPSD)

Education Qualification: ME/M-Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience Required: 7 to 10 years experience

Purpose of the role:

New product development to meet business goals of ODM & GPSD group for VRF segment:

a) Establish a rolling 3 year road map of Product Portfolio of VRF systems to meet business plans in close coordination with Sales and Product Management

b) Development of new products to meet quality, cost and time targets

Innovation: Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies for offering differentiated products and solutions

Enhancing brand image by introducing high impact products

Improve business profitability through VAVE and cost reduction projects

Involve and interact with External certifying agencies like Intertek, UL, Eurovent, AHRI etc for getting the necessary certifications for the products, regular updates on regulatory changes. Knowledge of AHRI, CE & UL standards related to VRF and allied components in the system to cater to the requirements of US & Europe markets. This development will be with A2L refrigerant.

Mentoring and developing: Developing competencies of team members; leading them in change initiatives

Lead a Team to undertake the assigned development program.

Responsibilities:

New product development: Plan, execute & monitor complete process of the New Product development from markets requirement to post launch stage. Ensuring agreed Quality, Cost & Delivery Targets to achieve set Business Goals

- Lead at least 2 - 3 projects at a time involving CFT members from sales, supply chain, manufacturing & OEM representatives (OEM CFT)

- VRF Systems based on inverter technology for commercial and residential applications. 3 to 5 TR category in Residential in side discharge type & 6 to 20 TR category in Top Discharge range. All the ranges in Heat recovery.

Adoption of new technologies and refrigerants for meeting changing market needs

Plan & develop differentiated, breakthrough products to remain ahead of competition

Bench marking: Extensive bench marking, customer interactions and QFD activities to be undertaken to arrive at best suited product for end user which is competitive as well as Featuristic & Futuristic

Competency Development : Variable speed technology, Advanced control systems and Safety regulations.

External Interactions :

- Interacting with key vendors for new technology adoption

- Interaction with US OEM/AHRI/ Certifying Agencies or contributing /understanding the future requirements of the products for US & Europe Markets

Generating IPR - Developing innovative, high impact ideas in new products and covert the ideas into Patents / Design Registration.

Mentoring and developing: Developing competencies of team members; leading them in change initiatives
