Job Description

Job Title: Head, Corporate Affairs

Reporting To: Director - Corporate Affairs & Sports

Role Summary:

The Head of Corporate Affairs will be pivotal in enhancing and safeguarding BLS Internationals image through strategic communication and stakeholder engagement. This role involves leading the development and execution of media strategies, building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, and identifying opportunities for the organization to improve its external impact through institutional bodies and direct interactions with government entities and international bodies.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Strategic Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive Corporate Affairs strategies, programs, and policies to enhance BLS International’s brand image and achieve positive outcomes with all stakeholders.
    • Design and execute programs to create and sustain a favorable external image of the organization.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Represent BLS International in meetings and functions of key institutional bodies such as CII, FICCI, and ASCOCHEM, and actively build the organization's image within these forums.
    • Ensure BLS International’s management is involved in relevant tourism and travel committees, and facilitate their invitations to significant events, including those involving foreign dignitaries, embassies etc.
    • Coordinate and arrange one-on-one meetings with key ministers and dignitaries as required to advance the organization’s interests.
  3. Media and Communication Management:
    • Oversee the production and dissemination of information to targeted audiences through appropriate channels, ensuring alignment with the corporate mission and vision.
  4. Advisory Role:
    • Provide strategic communication advice to senior management to uphold and enhance the organization’s image.
    • Develop recommendations for communication strategies and initiatives that align with organizational objectives and stakeholder interests.
  5. Budget Management:
    • Prepare, manage, and monitor the budget for the Corporate Affairs & External Relations Department, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with strategic goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., APR) is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Extensive experience (20+ years) in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, including at least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role.
    • Experience with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) or other Indian ministries and organisations is highly preferred.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans that align with organizational goals and enhance the company’s image.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Expertise in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including institutional bodies and government entities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively.
  • Research and Analysis: Ability to conduct research on stakeholder perceptions and utilize findings to inform communication strategies.
  • Budget Management: Experience in preparing, managing, and monitoring budgets effectively.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing a high-performance team.
  • Interpersonal Skills: High level of professionalism and the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, government officials, and other key stakeholders.
