Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Repair of Medical Equipment:
• Regular inspection, calibration, and maintenance of medical devices like imaging equipment (MRI, X-rays), monitoring devices, surgical instruments, infusion pumps, and ventilators.
• Troubleshooting and repairing faulty medical equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Keeping up-to-date records of maintenance and repairs performed on devices.
• Installation and Setup:
• Installing new medical equipment and ensuring it's operational.
• Performing safety checks and testing devices to verify they meet regulatory and operational standards.
• Clinical Support:
• Assisting healthcare staff with the proper use of medical technologies and equipment.
• Providing training and guidance on the safe operation of new devices and systems.
• Collaborating with clinicians and healthcare professionals to customize equipment for specific patient needs.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance:
• Ensuring medical devices comply with safety standards and regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO).
• Regularly reviewing and updating the hospital's equipment management practices.
• Managing medical device inventory to ensure devices are up-to-date and operational.
• Research and Development:
• Assisting with the evaluation of new medical technologies and proposing upgrades to existing systems.
• Staying informed on the latest trends and advancements in medical devices and technologies.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintaining detailed logs of equipment performance, service history, and repairs.
• Preparing technical reports on the performance and safety of equipment.
• Supporting audits and inspections as required by hospital regulations.
• Safety and Risk Management:
• Implementing and enforcing hospital policies regarding the safe use of medical equipment.
• Conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with equipment usage.
