*Position Overview:*
As the *Sales Manager*, you will play a pivotal role in leading our sales team, driving business growth, and expanding our market presence across the food service and corporate catering sectors. This position demands a highly strategic and results-oriented professional with deep expertise in the food and beverage industry, excellent leadership abilities, and a strong aptitude for closing high-value contracts. You will be responsible for formulating and executing sales strategies that align with our long-term growth objectives.
*Key Responsibilities:*
- *Strategic Business Development:*
- Lead the identification and acquisition of new business opportunities in key sectors such as schools, hospitals, and corporate catering.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue and growth targets.
- Focus on expanding market share by positioning Big Plate Kitchens as the preferred food service provider in the region.
- Leverage existing industry relationships and develop new partnerships to secure long-term contracts.
- *Sales Leadership & Team Management:*
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to the sales team, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
- Set clear sales targets, monitor performance, and drive accountability for achieving results.
- Foster a high-performance culture within the sales team by motivating and coaching team members to exceed expectations.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align sales efforts with broader business objectives.
- *Contract & Tender Management:*
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of contracts and tenders, from preparation to submission and closing.
- Lead negotiations with potential clients and partners, ensuring mutually beneficial contract terms.
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders to secure tenders and high-value contracts with schools, hospitals, and other institutional clients.
- Stay informed of government and private sector tenders related to food services, ensuring timely participation.
- *Client Relationship Management:*
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, focusing on customer retention and satisfaction.
- Act as the main point of contact for high-level client interactions, ensuring seamless communication and service delivery.
- Regularly engage with clients to understand their needs, gather feedback, and provide tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
- *Market & Competitor Analysis:*
- Conduct in-depth market analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Use insights from market research to refine sales strategies and adapt to evolving client needs.
- Continuously monitor competitor offerings to ensure Big Plate Kitchens maintains a competitive advantage in the market.
- *Financial Performance & Reporting:*
- Take ownership of the sales department’s budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial discipline.
- Prepare detailed reports on sales performance, market trends, and growth opportunities for senior leadership.
- Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous optimization of sales processes.
*Key Skills and Qualifications:*
- *Experience:*
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales, business development, or related roles within the Food & Beverage, Hospitality, or Corporate Catering sectors.
- Proven track record of leading successful sales teams and achieving ambitious revenue goals.
- Strong experience in managing large-scale tenders and securing high-value contracts with corporate and institutional clients.
- *Leadership & Team Management:*
- Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and managing high-performance sales teams.
- Ability to foster a collaborative and motivating work environment while driving accountability and results.
- *Sales Acumen & Negotiation Skills:*
- Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to close complex, high-value deals.
- Strong strategic thinking and business development skills, with a focus on revenue growth and market expansion.
- Ability to develop and implement long-term sales strategies that align with company objectives.
- *Communication & Personal Presentation:*
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver persuasive presentations and engage with senior decision-makers.

- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly.
- *Market Knowledge & Business Insight:*
- In-depth knowledge of the food services and catering industry, including a solid understanding of operational challenges and market dynamics.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and government or corporate tender management.
- *Education:*
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Additional certifications in sales or business management are a plus.
