QA Android Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Execution:

• Create and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for DTH & IPTV STBs.
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for Set-Top Box Android TV features, including:
• User Interface (UI) testing
• Functional testing
• Performance testing
• Compatibility testing
• Regression testing
• System integration testing
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium)
• Execute test cases and analyse test results to identify and document defects
• Track and manage defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira)
• Prepare test plans as per the timelines.
• Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Perform KPI & MTBF measurements using appropriate tools and scripts.

Defect Logging & Tracking

• Log the defects found during test cycles using JIRA.
• Capture defect logs and artefacts for ticket logging.
• Track defects and ensure closer with RCA.

Documentation:

• Prepare test reports for internal & external stakeholders
• Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, test results, and bug reports.
• Prepare release notes and QA sign-off reports as required.

Tool Utilization:

• JIRA, Android Studio, ADB, Xphyre Scale.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with developers, designers, and product managers to ensure quality at every stage of development.
• Triage for issue reproduction.
• Participate in agile/scrum meetings for QA insights and updates.

Additional Qualification:

• DTH, IPTV & OTT working knowledge.
• Experience with media streaming and playback technologies
• Experience with performance and load testing tools
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Groovy)
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with test automation tools.
