Job Description
Responsible for effectively and proactively communicating and escalating any challenges and potential opportunities they foresee within the team i.e ( schedules and tax implications , regulations etc.). within their book of business.
Consistently contributing ideas/opinions with the leaders on the process or software for serving our BDO USA client s for an exceptional client experience.
Responsible for creating a diverse and inclusive work environment for his/her team to ensure they are highly motivated and productive .
Maintaining a positive working relationship with BDO USA and BDO RISE members across levels.
Responsible as a lead from RISE and helping RISE Professionals by coaching , mentoring them through various training based on the need within the practice.
Responsible to mentor and guide team members on their professional journey and growth by sharing insights and vision for the practice and RISE in overall.
Responsible to stay updated with IRS/IRC regulations and tax reforms within the industry and constantly upgrading his/her technical understanding using various platforms including IRS releases, checkpoints etc.
Collaborating with our practice leads in BDO USA and RISE by w ork ing effectively in diverse and inclusive environment where each one is supported, respected, and recognized for their contribution and thereby contributing his/her experience and skills in serving our BDO USA client s for an everlasting RISE experience along with sharing insights to our practice leaders to make RISE better practice and place to work .
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in accounting or other relevant field required
Master s degree in accounting beneficial, master s degree in taxation preferred
Experience
14+ years of prior experience
Lead and manage the business relationship with a focus on high-value quality tax advice and seek to expand services to client s .
Interact directly with stakeholder s handling questions, planning, consulting, etc.
Manage quality on compliance and consulting deliverables.
Review research findings.
Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and should have knowledge about separate federal, state and local government tax compliances according to United States laws.
Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
Taking active role in Tax-Leadership meetings and building tax practice.
Other duties as assigned .
CP A or Enrolled Agent certification (or in the process of pursuing )
Software
Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with tax research databases such as BNA and RIA Proficient in all tax compliance process software including GoFileRoom , GoSystemRS , Caseware , BNA Depreciation Software, or comparable programs and standard tax workpaper s
Other Knowledge, Skills Abilities
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively delegate work as needed
Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills
Capacity to work well in a team environment
Capable of developing and managing a team of tax professionals
Ability to compose written tax advice
Capable of effectively developing and maintaining relationships
Executive presence and ability to act as primary contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions
