Job Description
Sr. Operations Specialist
JOB PURPOSE:
- Individual responsibility for the Sr. Operations specialist in his/her respective area and is expected to get results through high personal proficiency, coordinating the work with peers, developing/coaching others, developing the team and collaborating regionally to innovate and improve processes
- Responsible to manage Blend, Treat & Packing operations and support all engineering and Maintenance requirements in operations.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating the overall workload across the capacities and resources in Seed processing i.e. Blend, Treatment & Packing
- Responsible prioritizing and scheduling of process orders in alignment with control towers commitments & monthly sales demand.
- Increase employee functional knowledge of the operation team through knowledge exchange and individual development programs.
- Optimal deployment of NFTE s within Operation processes, in consultation with other specialists and process owners.
- Responsible for reporting weekly, monthly performance of on-time supply, productivity, quality upgrading and operational issues.
- Alignment of the packing timelines with Supply planning & demand planning to mitigate the objective of optimal and quick availability of packed commercial products for Sales.
- Preparing and monitoring the budget for the plant operations
- Manage & monitor CAPEX/OPEX requirements, upgradation of equipments, increase uptime and effective plant utilization.
- Manages reportees through motivation, recognition, leadership, development and administration
- Provides overall direction to teams if any and implements strategy in collaboration with the site leadership team
- Accountable for Batch process traceability in operations
- Accountable to handle customer complaints as SPOC.
- Ensure adherence of governmental rules and regulations, seed act & license at operations as well as Bayer HSE initiatives and objectives to ensure safety and compliance
- Exhibits understand of internal procedures/protocols and support compliance with legal requirements applicable to assigned area activities
- Executes intermediate to advanced activities in Bayer systems (SAP and electronic networks), commonly used in operation processes
- Support areas in driving the adoption of continuous improvement practices and programs (5S, Lean, Six Sigma) conducive to an organized and clean work environment.
- Utilize onePSS techniques to initiate process and standard work improvement

WHO YOU ARE:
- Ability to communicate with other entities (English language required, speak and write)
Required Skills / Experience:
- Minimum of a BS degree with 8+ years experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, engineering and/or technical environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead & coach people
- Results oriented approach
- Capability to clearly present information and influence or persuade others through oral or written communications
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while exhibiting situational judgement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Word
Desired Skills / Experience:
- Experience with agriculture and/or seed manufacturing
- Experience in working and/or leading in a matrix environment
- Computer proficiencies to include SAP
- Knowledge of process improvement principles such as Lean, Six Sigma
