We are seeking a highly skilled Evaluation & Management (E&M) Coder to join our healthcare team. This role will be responsible for accurately coding medical services provided by healthcare professionals in accordance with current ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Evaluation & Management guidelines, coding regulations, and payer requirements, ensuring accurate billing and compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze patient medical records to accurately code for Evaluation & Management services (E&M).
• Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments provided.
• Ensure that E&M coding is in full compliance with payer and regulatory requirements, including CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and private insurance carriers.
• Understand and apply the correct E&M level codes based on the documentation of the physician's services and patient care.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding updates, changes in regulations, and payer-specific coding policies.
• Provide feedback to healthcare providers on documentation improvement to ensure accurate coding.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies, ensure that claims are processed in a timely manner, and assist with appeals as needed.
• Collaborate with the billing department to ensure correct coding and timely reimbursement.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality protocols.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required). An associates or bachelors degree in healthcare, business, or related field is preferred.
• Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AHIMA is highly preferred.
