Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious, analytical and results oriented Sr. Manager, with a proven track record to build, nurture and grow Banyan Nation's Informal Supplier Partnerships PAN India.

This role will lead initiatives to engage and empower informal collectors and aggregators within Banyan Nation's supply chain.

This role focuses on enhancing partnerships, driving social impact, and ensuring that the informal sector is integrated into the company's supply chain strategy.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for increasing informal sector engagement, facilitating skill development programs, and establishing community collection centres, transform India's informal waste value chain to become more sustainable, transparent and traceable.

Key Responsibilities:

Informal Recycler Engagement:

- Increase the number of registered informal collectors and aggregators actively participating in Banyan Nation's supply chain.

- Build strong relationships with informal collectors and aggregators, ensuring trust and long-term collaboration.

- Develop strategies to formalize and integrate informal collectors and aggregators into the supply chain.

Skill Development Programs:

- Provide training and support to informal suppliers to enhance their operations, quality, and compliance with Banyan Nation's standards.

- Maximize participation rates in these programs, ensuring that they are accessible and beneficial to all participants.

- Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement effective training modules.

Community Collection Centres:

- Establish new community-run collection centres in strategic locations to increase material collection and recycling rates.

- Support communities in managing and operating these centres, ensuring their sustainability and efficiency.

- Monitor the performance and impact of these centres, making improvements as needed.

Social Impact Measurement:

- Develop and implement metrics to measure the social impact of Banyan Nation's engagement with informal recyclers.

- Track improvements in livelihood metrics, such as income levels, job security, and access to resources.

- Use data to drive further improvements and to report on the positive impact of the company's initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Collaborate with other departments, such as supply chain, finance, and marketing, to ensure that informal supplier partnerships are aligned with overall business objectives.

- Lead cross-functional projects that enhance the integration and performance of informal suppliers within the company's supply chain.

- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on how to strengthen informal supplier partnerships.

Compliance and Ethical Standards:

- Ensure that all partnerships with informal suppliers adhere to Banyan Nation's ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

- Develop and implement policies that protect the rights and well-being of informal workers.

- Monitor and address any risks or challenges related to compliance and ethical practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, Social Sciences, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in partnership management, community engagement, or sustainability roles, with a focus on the informal sector with at-least 3 years in a senior leadership position.

- Strong understanding of the informal economy, preferably in waste management or recycling.

- Excellent relationship-building, project management, analytical skills and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in sustainability and social enterprise sectors.

- Familiarity with social impact measurement tools and techniques.

- Certification in sustainability, supply chain management, or community development
