ROLE PROFILE

ROLE TITLE : Datawarehouse Engineer (Data Warehouse Developer)

JOB FAMILY : Information Technology – IT Data & Development

ROLE PURPOSE
Dimensional modelling and development and support of ETL and Data Warehouse for the provision of reporting to our business.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Capturing business requirements and translate into a star schema data model, develop
  ETLs, and validate results with business representatives
• Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.
• Prototyping, designing, and analysing requirements.
• Supporting implemented ETL and DWH solutions by monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues.
• ETL performance tuning and optimisation.
• Supporting and managing issues across the estate.
• Direct liaison with key users and stakeholders within the business
• Opportunities to expand skills inside a Cloud and Big Data environment.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for ETL and Data Warehousing
  
  TECHNICAL SKILLS
  
• 8 years+ experience of IT experience
• 8 years+ experience of IT in ETL, data modelling in a medium complex data warehouse environment.
• AWS technologies such as S3, Lambda, Redshift, etc
• Hands on ETL development experience (Informatica, ODI, SSIS, AWS Glue, Matillion, AWS / Azure / GCP Cloud data services
• Strong Python 3 skills Azure Data Factory, or similar)
  Prefect/AirFlow/DBT/Pentaho/Knime
• Knowledge of data compliance and security
• Strong analytical skills to solve issues and model complex business requirements
• Development of human readable ERDs (Entity issues around data driven solutions.
• Experience in full life cycle Business Intelligence development, Relationship Diagrams)
• Sound understanding of BI Best
• Practices/Methodologies, relational implementation, tuning and support
• Experience in working with complex structures, dimensional data modelling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse and reporting techniques
• Ability to collaborate within a team to produce and large data sets.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and quality deliverables
• Ability to produce documentation and low- workloads.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (DevOps) level solution designs
• Experience of using the above technologies Other programming knowledge (R,
  PowerShell,bash scripting) with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
• Experience in performance monitoring and tuning Interpersonal Skills
