Key skills for the job
1. Risk policy
Define the risk policies including risk related to credit, process etc. and risk policies for assessing the products in terms of product formulation, eligibility etc. to balance business growth and risk control requirement
Understand the business needs, review the business requirement document and collaborate with IT team to deliver on implementation
Identify the gaps in existing policies based on past cases, trends, location specific changes to upgrade/refine the policies
2. Portfolio management
Identify and implement policies like blocking/unblocking the delinquent customers based on behavior, increase in credit limit etc. to maintain a healthy portfolio of EMI cards
Facilitate sharing of risk data across stakeholders and provide input to businesses on loss making segments to improve decision making
Monitor and review portfolio trends and assess various parameters to ensure adherence to risk quality and targets and provide recommendations
3. Risk infrastructure
Develop and own a rule engine to make decision making quicker and automate the process and oversee implementation along with IT team
Ensure implementation of policies, procedures and rules in decision engine as per the risk and business requirements
Build the authorization management (during large transactions, exceeding limits etc.) to develop the infrastructure capability and increase approval rates without compromising on risk
4. Process improvement
Engage in continuous improvement/enhancement of systems by identifying gaps/opportunities to ensure timely delivery of all related activities and maintenance of TAT
Liaison with business heads to implement process changes to mitigate risk
5. Team development
Participate in recruitment process to identify the right talent at senior positions within the function
Establish individual performance expectations and regularly review individual performance of the team to keep a check at attrition
Identify and create development opportunities, training, induction sessions for team members to enhance functional knowledge

Upskilling of team in terms of data science capabilities to make sense of data and generating desired output
Overlap in accountabilities of portfolio management group with the team leads to slacking
Required Qualifications and Experience
a) Qualifications
Masters in Business Administration
b) Work Experience
Minimum 15 years of work experience in financial services domain
Experience of managing credit card portfolio
