Job Description

The Placement Coordinator will oversee and manage all placement-related activities at the college. The role involves building strong relationships with recruiters, preparing students for job opportunities, and ensuring a smooth placement process. The Placement Coordinator acts as the bridge between students and potential employers, playing a critical role in enhancing the employability and career prospects of students.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Student Engagement and Support

  • Organize workshops, training sessions, and mock interviews to prepare students for recruitment processes.
  • Provide career counselling and guidance to students to align their goals with industry demands.
  • Assist students in preparing resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles.
  • Address student queries and concerns related to placements and career options.

2. Recruiter Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain relationships with recruiters and industry professionals.
  • Regularly communicate with companies to understand their hiring needs and expectations.
  • Coordinate campus recruitment drives, including scheduling interviews, tests, and presentations.
  • Negotiate terms with recruiters to secure opportunities for a diverse range of students.

3. Event Planning and Execution

  • Organize placement drives, job fairs, and industry interaction sessions.
  • Coordinate with faculty and student volunteers to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Manage logistics such as venue setup, interview scheduling, and recruiter hospitality.

4. Data and Report Management

  • Maintain detailed records of student profiles, placement statistics, and recruiter feedback.
  • Analyze placement data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare periodic placement reports for college management and stakeholders.

5. Networking and Branding

  • Build a network of alumni and leverage their connections for placement opportunities.
  • Promote the college and its students to recruiters through marketing materials and presentations.
  • Ensure the college's presence on professional platforms like LinkedIn.

6. Coordination with Faculty and Administration

  • Collaborate with faculty to align students’ skills with industry requirements.
  • Work with the administration to set placement policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure all eligible students participate in placements.

7. Industry Trend Analysis

  • Stay updated with current industry trends, emerging sectors, and in-demand skills.
  • Provide insights to students and faculty on evolving career opportunities and requirements.

8. Soft Skills and Professional Development

  • Conduct or arrange training on communication, time management, teamwork, and other soft skills.
  • Encourage students to participate in internships and extracurricular activities to enhance employability.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in HR, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in placement coordination, recruitment, or HR is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, and online job portals.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
