Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks

• Drive business process consulting by translating customer business processes into IT solutions, including quality assurance

• Help position disruptive business innovation

• Support end-to-end solution design across all relevant solutions (OnPremise, Cloud, and Hybrid), applying Avertras methodologies

• Participate in transition planning of customer solution landscapes

• Drive deployment of SAP Model Companies for a specific area of business

• Demonstrating profound knowledge of modeling standards and tools

• Support for pre-sales activities

• Performance of feasibility studies/solution reviews

• Support in escalated projects

• Taking over the responsibility from time to time as a (sub-)project lead

• Takes responsibility from time to time as team lead and supports respective line manager(s) in people development tasks

Requirements

Project Structuring:

1. Proficiency in defining Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Network activities for organizing project work.

2. Familiarity with project structuring methods for large-scale, multi-phase, or complex projects, including milestone management.

3. Handling of project hierarchies and setting up various project profiles.

Project Planning:

1. Expertise in project scheduling, resource allocation, and cost planning using SAP PS tools.

2. Knowledge of integrating financial and operational project plans (e.g., budget and timelines).

3. Experience in managing various project versions and tracking project baselines.

Budgeting & Cost Management:

1. Setup and management of project budgets, including budget releases and availability control.

2. Integration with SAP CO (Controlling) for project cost accounting.

3. Monitoring project expenditure, settlements, and project variance analysis.

Resource Management:

1. Hands-on experience with resource planning and allocation in SAP PS.

2. Integration with SAP HR or external tools for managing workforce and skill sets.

3. Managing external procurement and services related to project execution.

Project Execution & Monitoring:

1. Expertise in tracking project progress through milestones, activity confirmations, and project status updates.

2. Handling of project-related procurement processes (integration with SAP MM).

3. Knowledge of project monitoring through key performance indicators (KPIs), earned value analysis, and performance metrics.

Project Integration with Other SAP Modules:

1. Integration with SAP FI (Finance), CO (Controlling), and MM (Materials Management) for project procurement and cost control.

2. SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) integration for customer projects and billing.

3. Knowledge of PS integration with Production Planning (PP) and Plant Maintenance (PM) for manufacturing or maintenance projects.

Revenue Recognition & Billing:

1. Expertise in setting up billing methods for projects (time-based, milestone-based, fixed price).

2. Integration with SAP SD for customer billing.

3. Familiarity with revenue recognition principles for projects.

Settlement of Projects:

1. Understanding of settlement rules, including distribution of project costs to cost centers, assets, or profitability analysis (COPA).

2. Experience in managing settlements across complex project hierarchies and joint ventures.

Master Data Management:

1. Competence in handling PS master data such as WBS elements, networks, and activity types.

2. Familiarity with change management and version control of project data.

Reporting & Analytics:

1. Expertise in SAP PS reporting tools for project performance tracking.

2. Experience with dashboards, customized reports, and integration with SAP BW or BI for advanced analytics.

3. Knowledge of profitability analysis and reporting (COPA) for project outcomes.

Additional Skills:

• SAP S/4HANA Experience: Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA for Project Systems, including new functionalities compared to SAP ECC.
• Project Leadership/Management: Ability to lead project systems implementations, upgrades, and optimizations.
• Industry-Specific Knowledge: Understanding of project management methodologies in various industries (e.g., construction, engineering, or IT).
• Cross-Functional Experience: Working knowledge of integrating SAP PS with related modules like Investment Management (IM), Production Planning (PP), and Plant Maintenance (PM).
