Assistant Manager Procurement

Role & responsibilities

• Manage the procurement process for Metals, Plastics, Machining, Metal Fabrications , Special process like Powder coating, Plating, Painting, ED coating etc., including sourcing, Pricing, contracting.
• Develop & maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery with quality and competitive prices.
• Conduct technical evaluations of suppliers including their capabilities ,capacities and quality systems.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and mitigate risks associated with all commodities procurement.
• Collaborate with logistics & planning team to ensure effective inventory management including stock level, storage & transportation.
• Identify & implement cost reductions initiatives, including supplier rationalization, process improvements & contract negotiations.
• Manage budgets and control costs to ensure procurement operations are within approved limits.
• Provide regular reports and analytics on procurement performances , market trend, supplier performance

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 -10 years of experience in procurement handling multi commodities.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices and procedures.
• Excellent negotiations, communications, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical knowledge in multi commodities especially on Metals, Plastics, Machining, Fabrications etc., including their properties, applications, manufacturing process etc.,
• Proficient in the Procurement software & systems especially well versed in handling SAP.
• Strong leadership and team management skills to ensure effective procurement operations.
