Australian Bookkeepers - Multiple Positions

Job description

The ideal candidate will be well-organized and must have 2+ years of experience using the Xero software. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the books for the Australian-based client on Xero and should be excellent at recording data and have the ability to produce clear financial reports. However, we may consider bookkeepers with extensive Xero experience from countries other than Australia.

Experience and skills:

• Proven bookkeeping experience.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Hands-on experience with Excel spreadsheets and Xero software.
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
• Detail-oriented, organized and proficient in bookkeeping software Xero, able to take initiative, prioritize, regularly meet deadlines, and be trustworthy and honest.
• Bookkeeping experience with construction industry clients will be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, such as supplier's ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger, track debits, and maintain and monitor financial records.
• Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
• Complete BAS forms.
• Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.
• Process receivable/payable accounts.
• Keep tabs on everything and anything to ensure that the company's finances stay intact, including cash flow statements, bank reconciliations, and loss statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in the related field using Xero (any country but Australian experience will be preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Xero
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Detail oriented
