Senior Database Administrator MSSQL

Requirements:

• B. E/ B. Tech (CS, IS, IT, ECE)
• Analyze Queries and Stored Procedures, tune the SQL for optimal performance.
• Min 3 years of strong experience and hands-on in database modelling, administration, tuning and troubleshooting performance problems.
• Knowledge on Replication.
• Strong knowledge on database backup & recovery.
• Implementation and maintenance of High Availability & Disaster Recovery setup for Business Continuity Plan, on-premises or on “Cloud”
• Understanding of streaming data analytics and resources.
• Monitor Production Servers for optimal performance.
• Experience in Data Migration between disparate systems. Knowledge on SSIS
• Powershell scripting for administration and job automation required.
• Strong exposure on database configuration for SaaS applications.
• Knowledge on reporting tools - SSRS
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance.

Responsibilities:

• Stay abreast of the latest database SQL trends & technologies and work on implementing the same as per business requirements at Aurigo.
• Put security first and maintain the complete database environment at Aurigo.
• Prepare knowledge base articles, presentations to management periodically and participate in monthly/bi-weekly program/project and environment reviews.
• Ensure 100% uptime of the database environment in Cloud.
• Participate in company hackathon events and intercompany hackathon events or game days organized by top global cloud service providers.
• Participate in On-Call rotation 2 weeks a month.
• Participate in a monthly production patching activity one Saturday every month (compensatory-off will be provided)
• Configuring High Availability, log shipping and mirroring in SQL Server.
• Should have experience in handling mission- critical databases.
• Coordinated with developers to ensure that the data model meets the application requirements.
• Performed database performance tuning, query optimization, and backup/recovery operations.
• Developed and maintained scripts using T- SQL and PowerShell.
• Should have experience in SQL Database migration.
• Configuring and installing MS SQL server databases.
• Maintenance of MS SQL server databases including backup, recovery and data integrity.
• Troubleshooting server issues and performance bottlenecks
• Administration and management of database objects.
• Worked on Change Data Capture mechanism and fixing any issues or dispensaries for CDC related tables.
• Configuring SQL Agent jobs as per the client requirements.
• Configuring SSRS and troubleshooting SSRS related failures.
• Should be proficient with SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Service (SSAS), and SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS).
• Should have experience in applying patches and service packs to keep the database at current patch level.
• Should have experience in performing integrity checks and methods including configuring the database maintenance plan wizard and DBCC utilities.
• Managing servers in Active/Active and Active/Passive type of clustering.
• Should have experience of troubleshooting of SQL Server blocking issues, Deadlock and performance.
• Should have experience on data file movement of databases, working on shrinking of log files, configuring database mail.
• Creating indexes whenever it’s required by analyzing the queries.
• Scheduling backups and alerts using PowerShell scripts.
• Should have experience in tracing long running queries and deadlocks using SQL Profiler.
• Should have experience in taking backup and restoration of databases for migrating the databases to new setup.
