Job Overview:

Astra Chemtech Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced professional to lead its R&D department in the Hotmelt Adhesive Division. The candidate will be responsible for research, product development, innovation, quality enhancement, and technical support for hotmelt adhesives, ensuring industry-leading formulations and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Development: Develop new hotmelt adhesive formulations for various applications, including packaging, woodworking, automotive, bookbinding, and labeling.
• Process Optimization: Improve existing formulations for cost-effectiveness, performance enhancement, and sustainability.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all formulations meet industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliances.
• Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to production, sales, and customers for troubleshooting and application development.
• Market Research: Analyze market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, production, and procurement for smooth project execution.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and manage the R&D team to achieve research and development goals effectively.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of research, formulations, test results, and project progress for internal and external reporting.

Key Requirements:

• Education: Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in hotmelt adhesive R&D with a proven track record of successful product innovations.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of polymers, adhesives, additives, and raw materials used in hotmelt adhesives.
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in formulation development, rheology, adhesion science, and process engineering.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize product performance.
• Leadership Skills: Experience in leading and managing R&D teams efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
