Job Description
- Patient Preparation: Prepare pediatric patients and their families for cardiac tests and procedures, providing information and ensuring their comfort and cooperation
- Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG): Perform and interpret electrocardiograms to assess the electrical activity of the heart, identify irregularities, and assist in diagnosing arrhythmias and other cardiac conditions
- Echocardiography: Assist in performing pediatric echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart) to visualize the heart's structures, function, and blood flow, helping to diagnose congenital heart defects, valve abnormalities, and other conditions
- Stress Testing: Assist in pediatric exercise stress tests to assess heart function and monitor the heart's response to physical activity
- Holter Monitoring: Apply and analyze Holter monitors, which are portable devices that record the heart's electrical activity over a 24- or 48-hour period to detect irregular rhythms
- Blood Pressure Monitoring: Monitor and record blood pressure measurements in pediatric patients during clinic visits or procedures
- Patient Care and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of pediatric patients throughout procedures, addressing their emotional and physical needs
