Job Title: Risk Analyst - Credit Risk Analytics

Location: Mumbai

Department: Risk Management

Key Responsibilities:

• Credit Risk Analytics & Decisioning: Act as the owner for credit risk analytics, decisioning, and system-based risk rules. Develop and manage credit algorithms to assess and mitigate credit risks.
• Model Development & Implementation: Design, develop, and implement credit risk models using analytical, data-driven approaches. Ensure models align with business objectives and risk tolerance.
• Model Performance Monitoring: Continuously track the performance of credit risk models. Propose and implement enhancements to improve model accuracy and predictive power based on performance feedback.
• Model Testing & Validation: Conduct pilot testing, use case studies, and subjective assessments to validate credit risk models. Ensure models function effectively under real-world conditions.
• Root Cause Analysis: Analyze default events, outliers, and other anomalies to identify the underlying causes and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Risk Indicators & Early Warning Signals: Identify key risk indicators and early warning signals from input data and model outputs. Leverage these insights to proactively manage credit risk.
• Credit Lending Framework Enhancement: Contribute to the continuous improvement and enhancement of the credit lending framework, including policies, processes, and controls. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Special Projects: Participate in special projects within the Risk Analytics team to address emerging risks, regulatory changes, or process optimizations.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a banking or non-banking financial company (NBFC).
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in credit risk model building, implementation, testing, and integration. Proficient in analytical tools, spreadsheets, and modeling tools.
• Programming Skills: Proficient in R, Python, or similar programming languages for data analysis and model development.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with large datasets and extract actionable insights.
• Knowledge Base: Familiarity with statistical techniques, credit reference data, external agency data, and credit systems/databases.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at various levels. Strong interpersonal skills for negotiation and decision-making.
• Qualifications:
• MBA (Finance/Analytics), CA, FRM, CFA, or other equivalent qualifications in finance or risk management.
