Job Title: Professor / Associate Professor Dermatology

Location: GEIMS, Dehradun Uttarakhand

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

• Deliver high-quality lectures and training sessions to undergraduate (MBBS) students in Dermatology.
• Develop and supervise clinical teaching programs and encourage active learning in dermatological sciences.
• Guide students in research, projects, and publications to promote academic excellence.

Clinical Expertise:

• Oversee dermatological outpatient and inpatient services, ensuring best practices in diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases, cosmetic dermatology, and dermatosurgery.
• Supervise and mentor postgraduate students (if applicable) and junior doctors in clinical management and procedures.
• Implement advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, fostering an innovative clinical environment.

Research Contributions:

• Lead departmental research initiatives in dermatology and skin-related disorders.
• Publish research findings in reputed national and international journals to enhance the institutions academic reputation.
• Seek and secure grants for research projects, encouraging collaborative studies.

Quality Assurance & Departmental Development:

• Contribute to the development of the Dermatology department, ensuring compliance with National Medical Commission (NMC) and other regulatory standards.
• Participate in hospital committees and initiatives to improve clinical governance and patient care.
• Regularly update and maintain departmental protocols and policies.

Administrative Duties:

• Assist in curriculum design and updates as per NMC requirements.
• Coordinate academic and clinical schedules within the Dermatology department.
• Represent the department in institutional meetings and external conferences.

Qualifications:

• Professor: MD/DNB in Dermatology with a minimum of 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution, including at least 4 years as an Associate Professor.
• Associate Professor: MD/DNB in Dermatology with a minimum of 5 years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution, including at least 2 years as an Assistant Professor.
