Assistant Manager - Programmable Technology

Role & responsibilities

This is an individual contributor position in the Programmable Technology Team. The team focuses on longer term new technologies on the horizon with major business impacting potentials and has a comprehensive overview of various emerging technologies related to programmable networking& automation. Specifically, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Developer with Java, Angular skillsets to join our dynamic team and work on the development of ONAP (Open Network Automation Platform).

Preferred candidate profile

• Collaborate and contribute to the development of different components in open network automation platform (ONAP)
• Participate in the qualification process of ONAP and associated developed use cases and solutions.
• Collaborate with other cross-functional teams to gather the requirements
• Participate in building and executing test plans including functional and end to end test, regression, pre-production and post-production phases.
• Participate in feature planning from an early stage, collaborating with engineering and product teams as well as vendors/suppliers.

• Participate in the preparation of technical documentation, including design documents and user manuals, etc...
• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Skills

Java, Angular, Spring, Kotlin, Groovy, Docker, version control (Git/Gerrit), Linux

Kubernetes, Ansible, JIRA, ONAP, TOSCA, YANG

Description-

• 4+ years of demonstrated professional experience in software development & engineering with a focus on network automation and orchestration.
• Strong experience in programming languages like Java, Angular, Spring, groovy, Kotlin
• Strong experience in Docker
• Strong experience in Linux administration
• 3+ years of version control tools (Git, Gerrit)
• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures, including SDN and NFV.
• Working familiarity with testing and qualification methodologies and test automation frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication, as well as team collaboration skills combined with the willingness to learn.

Additional Qualification & Skills (PLUS)

• Experience in network automation and orchestration, including hands-on experience with ONAP, its components and sub-components.
• Experience in Jira
• Hands-on experience with open networking software modelling languages (e.g., YANG, TOSCA, Ansible, HEAT, Netconf/RESTCONF, etc.)
