Job Description

Job Summary:


Swiss Garnier is seeking an experienced GST and Compliance Manager with a proven track record of at least 8 - 10 years in managing GST, TDS, TCS, and tax-related compliance activities. The ideal candidate will oversee the preparation, filing, and reconciliation of GST returns, manage GST refund applications, coordinate TDS/TCS filings, and ensure timely compliance with all tax laws. This position requires working closely with auditors, government departments, and internal teams to ensure all statutory obligations are met efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:


1. GST Return Compliance:


  • Monthly GST Return Filing:
    • Manage the filing of GSTR1 and GSTR3B returns for Chennai and factory locations using GST software.
    • Ensure accurate data entry, reconciliation, and timely filing of GST returns.
    • Upload GSTR1 data to the portal and prepare reconciliation statements in Excel.
    • Prepare monthly GST review files for auditors.

  • Annual GST Returns:
    • Oversee the preparation and filing of annual GST returns for both Chennai and factory units.

  • GSTR Reconciliation:
    • Lead the preparation of GSTR1 and GSTR2B reconciliation statements in Excel for both locations.
    • Conduct input credit reconciliation with GSTR2B data.

  • RCM Liability Workings:
    • Calculate and prepare RCM (Reverse Charge Mechanism) liability workings and related reports.

  • GST Refund Applications:
    • Handle the preparation and submission of GST refund claims related to exports and inverted duty structure.
    • Perform 2A reconciliation and coordinate with GST auditors for refund applications.

2. TDS & TCS Compliance:


  • TDS/TCS Returns:
    • Oversee the filing of quarterly e-TDS and e-TCS returns (Forms 24, 26, 27EQ).
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing, including corrections for TDS/TCS returns as necessary.

  • Issuance of TDS Certificates:
    • Issue Form 16 (Part A & B) and Form 16A/16/27D as per the TDS/TCS regulations.

  • TDS/TCS Payment Statements:
    • Manage the preparation of monthly TDS and TCS payment statements for timely submission.

3. Coordination & Compliance with Government Departments:


  • Audit & Assessment Coordination:
    • Coordinate with GST, excise, sales tax, and income tax departments for audits, assessments, and notices.
    • Represent the company in hearings and follow-up on pending issues with government departments.

  • Submission of Documents:
    • Ensure the timely preparation and submission of necessary documents for compliance with government regulations.

4. Miscellaneous Compliance & Finalization:


  • Sales Register Finalization:
    • Lead the finalization of the sales register for TCS and GST returns filing.

  • Personal GST Compliance:
    • Handle individual GST-related compliance, including GSTR3B and GSTR1 filings for personal accounts.

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Educational Qualification:
    • CA (Chartered Accountant) / ICWA (Cost Accountant).

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in managing GST, TDS/TCS compliance, and coordinating audits and assessments.
    • Extensive experience with GST software for filing returns and conducting reconciliations.

  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel (for reconciliation, data analysis, and reporting).
    • Expertise in GST, TDS, and TCS regulations.
    • Familiarity with filing GST returns, preparing reconciliations, and handling refund processes.

  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to lead teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Exceptional communication skills for coordination with auditors, government authorities, and internal teams.
    • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
