Fire safety officer

Role & responsibilities

• The fire officer and deputy should have the knowledge of fire & life safety and firefighting, total topography of the Hospital building. He should have through knowledge of all fire safety, disaster management SOPs pertaining to hospital.
• Carrying out a fire risk assessment for the building and ensure that it is kept up to date.
• He should conduct regular inspections of fire equipment, periodical drills, weekly fire alarm tests, monthly sprinkler tests, quarterly mock drills and evacuation drills are carried out in the building/premises with the help of security, housekeeping and other related staff.
• He should record in the related books and bring to the notice of concerned authorities.
• Organising the first aid Firefighting training for staff, security personnel, and all hospital staff (including doctors and nurses). He will maintain the concerned records.
• He will attend all other related duties allotted by higher authority.
• Conduct fire suppression training classes.
• Responsible for all such additional activities which the management assigns from time to time.

JOB SPECIFICATION

• Educational Qualification: Diploma in Fire Safety/ Fire Engineering
• Experience Required: Minimum 6-8 years’ experience
• Preferably From Health Care
