Experience: 9 to 14 years

Role & responsibilities

• The Senior MRI Technician is responsible for performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures on patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. This position requires expert knowledge of MRI technology and techniques, as well as a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and pathology to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. As a senior member of the MRI team, the technician will also take on leadership responsibilities, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• MRI Procedure Performance:
  
• Operate MRI machines to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and structures.
• Prepare patients for MRI scans by explaining procedures, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring comfort.
• Monitor patient vital signs during scans and communicate any issues or changes to medical staff.
• Administer contrast agents as needed, ensuring proper protocols are followed for patient safety.
• Patient Care & Safety:
  
• Provide excellent patient care, ensuring their understanding of the procedure and addressing any concerns or fears.
• Maintain a sterile and safe environment to prevent cross-contamination or injury.
• Follow safety guidelines related to MRI procedures, including the screening of patients for metal implants or devices that may interfere with the scan.
• Ensure that patient privacy and confidentiality are upheld according to HIPAA regulations.
• Equipment Management:
  
• Operate and maintain MRI equipment, performing routine checks and troubleshooting minor issues.
• Ensure that MRI machines are properly calibrated and functioning optimally.
• Coordinate with the biomedical engineering team for more complex repairs or maintenance.
• Quality Control:
  
• Ensure that all MRI images meet high-quality standards for diagnostic purposes.
• Perform regular quality assurance checks on the MRI equipment and software.
• Ensure that images are properly documented and stored in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Leadership & Training:
  
• Mentor and train junior MRI technicians on best practices, equipment operation, and patient care techniques.
• Assist in the onboarding of new staff and provide ongoing education on updates in MRI technology and safety standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure proper patient diagnoses and care.
• Administrative & Documentation:
  
• Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging results, contrast usage, and patient interactions.
• Ensure all required documentation is completed and communicated with the relevant medical team.
• Assist in managing scheduling and patient flow for the MRI department.
• Compliance & Standards:
  
• Adhere to all institutional, state, and federal regulations related to MRI technology and patient care.
• Participate in ongoing continuing education to stay current with advances in MRI technology and medical imaging techniques.
• Ensure that all safety protocols related to MRI procedures are followed, particularly with regard to preventing patient and staff exposure to harmful effects of magnetic fields.

Preferred candidate profile

-Qualification: Diploma/BSc in Radiography/Imaging Services(VALID TS REGISTRATION)

-Experience: 9 to 15years

-Should have good experience as a Radiology Technician

-Should have good knowledge about various Radiology tests and its procedures
