Roles & Responsibilities

This role is heavily focused on developing new transformational technologies aligned to the futuristic goals of Aliaxis beyond 2025+, in-terms of developing novel materials, proposing new system-level solutions and manufacturing technologies working in collaboration with global stakeholders, external ecosystems and start-ups, etc. In this role, you will act as a portfolio leader for the transformational technologies and will work across the organization to identify new opportunities and develop a roadmap for adoption of right solutions and lead the research efforts in the respective domain with a start-up mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop strategic technology adoption and develop new technology roadmap to link it with futuristic business roadmaps of respective Aliaxis business verticals across the globe.
• Identify & establish new external ecosystems for developing new class of materials, system level solutions and its scale up
• Build proposals to propose new potential solutions with compelling business case working closely with potential customers, external partners & ecosystems, through the business stakeholders.
• Build network with universities around the world to accelerate low TRL technologies and lead development in polymers/materials aligning with the future strategy
• Lead the research and development efforts to mature the -xRL (technology / manufacturing / commercial readiness levels) for the new technologies in expedited manner
• Work in association with a program management team to coordinate activities with a group of engineering resources, cross functional teams, external partners and ecosystem to ensure timely completion of the project milestones utilizing internal project execution processes, including gate reviews, design reviews, and technical Reviews.
• Work closely with simulation, sustainability and IP CoE to develop proactive approach to monitor the upcoming regulatory changes related to materials and develop a mitigation strategy proactively
• Work in collaboration with Market Intelligence, Supply chain and Business strategist for commercialization of newly developed technologies
• Provide technical leadership to research teams to develop / evaluate new materials. Ensure the technical rigor of the work undertaken.

People Management

• Identifying potential engineering resources as per the scope of the projects
• Co-ordinate, lead the design and development related activities with the help of multidisciplinary team members
• Motivate and mentor the team to operational success.
• Consistently promote and set ambitious standards through personal example.
• Lead the team in new product development projects.
• Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan and set team goals.
• Provide technical expertise to the team.

Qualifications

• Master s degree in mechanical/materials/chemical (with 10+ years of experience) in relevant field
• Ph.D. (with 7+ years experience) in relevant field
• Green Belt in Six Sigma/DFSS.
• Knowledge and experience of thermoplastic molding processes, and in general processing of plastics.
