Job Description

The Senior Design Engineer provides technical support to the specification sales team and supervise the development of high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans. He / she closely interacts with customers stakeholders across the whole value chain and influences them to specify AlIaxis products. Promotes the offering accordingly, and through deep expertise and advice succeeds in influencing the buying decision by shifting the focus away from cost.

Key responsibilities

Lead and supervise the development of high-quality technical drawings and plans based on designs provided by architects and designers.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to understand design requirements, providing deep expertise and advice to manufacturing and construction technicians.
Ensure full compliance with design codes and regulations, contributing to the updating of these codes.
Calculate costs and apply knowledge of materials and engineering principles to assess the feasibility of manufacturing and constructing the product.
Present working drawings for use in all project stages, including tender, manufacture/construction, and installation.
As a system expert on fluid systems, influence the overall objectives and long-range goals of the specialism.
Present or support the presentation of products or systems at technical conferences.
Advocate for improvements to product quality and performance, participating in innovation projects and overall design process improvements.
Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity.
Provide mentorship to team members, helping them grow in their technical responsibilities and removing blockers to their autonomy.
Lead teams of engineers and manage projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
Stay updated with new software design technologies and participate in local and global digital pilot projects.

Functional competencies

Flexible decision-making approach, able to make changes to drawings at short notice.
Strong mathematical skills for completing calculations and estimates.
Spatial and design skills to visualize projects in 2D and 3D.
Problem-solving, creativity, and innovation to develop solutions to design problems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant programs.
Attention to detail to create accurate and detailed drawings and check colleagues work for accuracy and quality.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work with clients, engineers, and architects.
Teamwork skills to collaborate with other CAD technicians and draughts persons on projects.
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines.

Required Experience and Knowledge

Minimum 5 years of experience as an MEP consultant with a focus on fluid systems.
Managed projects such as high-rise multi-occupancy buildings or large-scale commercial projects for fluid systems.
Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects.
Strong knowledge of MEP solutions and expertise in fluid systems.
Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD and REVIT.
Knowledge of health & safety requirements and standards (country, customer, and industry standards).
